Management of the Neurological Upper Extremity

Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to:

-Demonstrate an understanding of the basic philosophy underlying the NDT/Bobath approach to the treatment of adults with neurological dysfunction and particularly as applied to management of the hemiplegic upper extremity

-Demonstrate an understanding of the normal biomechanics of the upper extremity and particularly the impact of trunk and rib cage alignment to shoulder girdle movement and upper extremity function 

-Under the direction and guidance of  a PT or OT, carry out treatment programs for persons with upper extremity challenges that require handling skills
