The Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, 2010 contains amendments to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) that will extend the legislation to hospitals beginning January 1, 2012.
This conference will prepare participants for FIPPA with respect to information (records) life cycle management, and ultimately building a “culture of access” across the organization. Participants will hear from leading experts on
FIPPA including a panel addressing the various models that hospitals can implement to prepare for their FIPPA-related responsibilities and for managing their records. Some general records management tips will also be provided, including how to establish a directory of records; develop records retention policies; effectively and
efficiently process requests in accordance with the Act; and adhere to best practices for email creation,
storage and retention.
